Meet Revathi Veeramani, from Sakki Mangalam village in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district. She is ready to live an Olympic dream as part of the 4x400m Indian mixed relay team.
Revathi was orphaned at an early age and bought up by her grandmother K. Arammal who despite her old age toiled hard as a daily wager to ensure Revathi and her sister continued their schooling. Revathi found her true calling in school itself but had to run barefoot in various track level events. Her talent was spotted early on by her coach Kannan and it is under his tutelage, Revathi has grown to be a star athlete. To encourage Revathi to realise her potential, not only did Kannan train Revathi but also provided her family financial support and helped her to complete her graduation.
Talent, determination & grit can beat all odds but when there is encouragement and faith reposed in us, miracles happen, and dreams come true.
